switch to massage career

by Teresa
(Santa Barbara, CA)

I am about to switch careers and enter into the field of massage therapy. I have a Master's degree in Psychology and 25 years of business experience. Do you have any advice?

Also, I have back pain myself. Will doing massage make it worse?

Answer: You have to take care of your back and do everything you can to get rid of it which massage could really help it but do it before massage school. Your background in psychology will be a great help and you could learn some of the body-mind techniques such as Hakomi or Hellerwork or something like that
