State licensure transfer

by Debbie
(Dayton, OH)

If someone is licensed in the state of Ohio, can they transfer their licensure to the state of Washington? Ohio requires 750 hours of schooling, and Washington requires 500 hours of schooling. I am currently preparing to take the Ohio state exam, but we are considering relocating to Washington next year.

Answer:
You have to contact the WA State Board of Massage to find out what will be required to transfer your massage license.

Ohio vs Washington Licensure
by: Mary Ellen Derwis-Balaz

I agree with the comment previously posted. My experience with Hawaii after moving from Ohio is that they required me to take a state exam. No extra schooling. And Washington might be one of those states that practices reciprocity and grant you a license. Check it out. One thing I do know from traveling around the country... The Ohio licence is well respected. Go for both. You will not regret it.
