Queensborough Community College/City University of New York in Bayside, Queens, offers a two year associates of applied science degree program in healing arts/massage therapy. The program includes general education courses -- English, social sciences, math -- which can be transferred to 4-year colleges, and advanced electives -- hospital-based massage, pregnancy massage, sports massage, Thai massage -- that prepare QCC's grads for the job market. Class sizes are small, 7-16 students in clinicals and labs, allowing for careful, individual attention from the faculty, within the large, urban campus. CUNY's tuition is the lowest in the NYC area.
