PIMA Institute - Massage Program, Mesa, AZ
At Pima Medical Institute, we want each student to succeed. We are dedicated to providing students with a well-rounded education that offers theoretical classroom studies coupled with real world training on-site at medical facilities.
Pima Medical Institute is more than a vocational school. We provide life-altering opportunities that turn our students into competent medical professionals who can meet the expectations of 21st century employers. Our mission is to improve the quality of people’s lives by providing the best value in medical career education.
Pima Medical Institute started changing lives in January 1972, when Richard Luebke, Sr. and his wife, JoAnn, realized their dream of offering quality medical career education in Tucson, Ariz., starting with a nursing assistant program. Just one year later, the program had become so popular, the Luebkes added classes for other medical professions to meet the growing demand.
As a student in the Massage Therapist program at Pima’s massage therapy school, you'll learn how to perform therapeutic massage techniques for preventive maintenance, recovery from injury, stress management, relaxation and general wellness.
Pima's massage therapy school classes teach techniques in Swedish massage; condition-specific massage, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, low back pain and headaches; Asian theory and body work; spa technologies; massage for special populations, including elderly, athletes and pregnant women; and sports-injury management.
In addition to proficiency in the practical application of massage techniques, as a Pima massage therapy school student, you'll gain a working knowledge of anatomy and physiology, pathology, kinesiology, as well as strong interpersonal skills and professional ethics.
