Online Massage Certification

Online Massage Certification is just starting to become an option for becoming a licensed massage therapist in the US. The thing is that the licensing requirements are different in each states and only a few states will recognize online training. Most states will be hopefully be adopting soon especially since the National Certification Board in Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) just started allowing for online massage classes.

The challenges of learning massage through an online massage certification program are many. For the most part basic anatomy and physiology can be easily learned online. Learning to actually do hands on massage on a live person and learning about client interactions and the therapeutic relationship is the challenge.

There are already many continuing education massage classes that are being offered online.

The most important thing to consider when looking at doing an online massage training is to make sure that the state accepts the program as fulfilling the requirements for massage licensing.
