Montgomery School of Bodywork & Massage

by Kristi H Duncan
(Montgomery, AL, USA)

We are a 700 clock hour, triple certificate program offering full time, part-time and online distance learning. For more information go to http://www.onesimpletouch.com

The Montgomery School of Bodywork & Massage was established in October, 2002 by Kristi H. Duncan BA, LMT, NCTMB, in order to provide training in therapeutic massage, orthopedic massage and spa therapy.
Massage therapists should have the knowledge and marketable skills necessary to be able to step into any work environment that he/she chooses upon graduation and we work to provide you with training to do so.
Our mission is to:
To provide a thorough, hands-on education, enabling students to meet the growing needs of the massage therapy industry.

To prepare graduates for meaningful work with other health care professionals.

To provide students with a broad base of experiences so, upon graduation, they may expand into a wider range of employment.

To provide students with proper communication and interpersonal skills.

To promote the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in the field.

The benefit of MSB&M’s small class sizes is personal attention and supervised instruction for each student. In all classes, the ratio of instructors to students will not exceed 1:10 (one instructor for up to 10 students). In all lab classes, the ratio is 1:8 as training is primarily hands-on, providing a more in depth experience. The most important learning aspect of our lab class is the connection and communication between client and therapist. Students learn how to relate to, identify certain conditions and apply the appropriate massage techniques to each client they come into contact with. This skill is reinforced throughout the program when students practice on each other and during student clinic.

Students take all of the "book learning" classes online, and the "hands on" bodywork classes at the Montgomery campus

The Montgomery School of Bodywork & Massage program is awesome. You can get a quality education that will prepare you for the world & business of massage. They have a wide range of options that will fit most any schedule. I chose the online/weekend progam which was perfect for me. Thanks Kristi!
