Massage Website Tips

  • - Don't start off talking about yourself. People don't want to hear about yourself. They want to know what is in it for them. People are looking for a solution to some problem that they have. What solution do you provide?

  • Use Google Adsense on your articles section which should be filled with hundreds of articles on massage, what massage does, how it is used, what conditions it is used with etc. I don't recommend putting it on your main page.

  • Be sure to have your contact information on every page of your website.

  • Ask for people to take action. Give away a free report. Have them sign up for a newsletter. Get their names somehow!

  • Make the site easy to read and easy to get around on.

  • Put yourself in your clients shoes - what would make them want to call YOU?

  • Get your website listed on Google Local Results. When people search for 'massage, your city' there is usually a section that lists local results on Google Maps. Click on the results and at the bottom of the page there is a section that says "For Business Owners". Click on that and add your listing.

  • If your website isn't on the first page of Search engine results you can also use Google Adwords to get traffic and new clients. Usually if you build a content rich site using targeted keywords you will get to the top of Google without paying for ads

  • Use Twitter to connect with your clients. You can announce last minute openings or openings that you have that week. Use a separate account to contact your friends and business professionals. I am on twitter.

  • Keep the layout clean and uncluttered. Don't use fancy flash intros or hard to read text. Look at your site in different browsers. There is free software online to do that like http://browsershots.org/

  • Get other sites to link to your site to create what are called backlinks. They do provide some traffic but more importantly they are one of the ways that the Search Engines look at a site and list them in the search engine results. Do a search for 'massage, your city' and if your site doesn't come up first look to see how many links are pointed at that site by doing a search 'link:http://www.thatsitesname.com '. Do it in Yahoo!, Google and Live and it will tell you how many links that site has going to it. You will need more than they do to get to that top spot in the search engines.
