Massage Website Content

Massage Website content is one of the things that many massage therapists struggle with in creating a website for their massage business yet it is one of the most important. Here is a good video on just why content is so important and what it can do to build your massage business.

Massage therapists usually just want to do massage but in order to get the clients that you need you will need to learn to write and promote yourself. A website is one of the best ways to get highly targeted traffic to your massage business. When people do a search for 'massage, your city' they are already looking for a massage!!! This is so important I can not stress it enough. When people come to your site already looking for massage the rest is easy! (Well sort of!)

First you have to get your site to show up in the first listing on the first page of results. The first page will do but the top listing is of course ideal. To make that happen it is a combination of using keywords strategically in your domain and throughout your website. Once the website gets to the top listing you then need to get people to click on it. This is again using keywords strategically in what is called the metatag section of your website. This is a hidden code part of your site that lets search engines create a listing from your pages. Having the right words there can make the difference in whether or not you get the click or not.

Once you get people to your site, you have to be focusing on them right from the start. People want to know what is in it for them. They don't care usually what type of massage you are doing (and most don't even know much about the different types of massage.) What they do want to know is will you be able to help them with what ever issue they are having which is usually some sort of pain or stress. Providing answers to this comes in the form of writing content about what you do, what massage can do, your philosophy on healing, why you got into massage, writing about how the body works and talking about how getting regular weekly massage can help someone!

This doesn't have to be professional writing. Writing simply at a 7th grade reading level is best for the web. People scan and jump around. It is just about putting down in writing what you should be telling people anyway in person when you are talking to them on the phone or in person on or off the table. Writing these things down can also help improve your ability to talk to clients in this way. You can do your research and gather your thoughts and put it all in writing. You will then be able to talk about it all more easily.

Write about different diseases and conditions that you work with. You can use the Massage pathology section at my other site www.thebodyworker.com to help research various diseases. I have links to many free online article from the major massage publications on most diseases and conditions so that you can read about them and create your own article and even refer people to the references.
