Massage Therapy Music

Finding the right massage therapy music can be a big part of setting the intention for massage in a professional or personal setting. But before you go off buying up massage music CD's and music downloads please be sure you know the legal aspects of playing music in your massage office setting.

"According to 17 U.S.C. Sec. 110(5) of the Copyright Act,establishments with less than 2000 gross square feet are exempt fromlicensing laws. This exemption applies to most massage practices. However, if the establishment has greater than 2000 gross square feet, audio transmissions may not be transmitted by more than sixloudspeakers, with a limit of four speakers in any one room. Practicestransmitting music beyond these parameters may be subject to licensing."

Be sure to consult an attorney or two if you have any questions on this before playing music in your office.

There are different types of music that will appeal to different types of clients. You can let clients pick their own music or even bring their own music. I have done massage to Led Zepplin, Alanis Morrisette as well as the classical music of Bach, Beethoven and Yo Yo Ma.

Here is some of my favorite music for doing massage:(Use the scroll bar at the bottom to see the whole page!)
