Massage Therapy Jobs

Massage Therapy Jobs are in demand. While most massage therapist actually start their own business according to the ABMP, more places are hiring massage therapists.

Some of the places where you can find a job are in:

  • Massage Franchises like Massage Envy and Elements
  • Spas- day spas, destination spas, resorts
  • Hotels
  • Health clubs
  • Medical doctors office's
  • Hospitals
  • Cruise Ships

You can also take the time to create your own job in massage therapy. All it takes is finding a niche or specialized area and showing the company just how massage can be of benefit to them.

As in any career, jobs are relationships that bring up some of our own personal unfinished business. We expect employers to 'take care of us'. Employers because they have power over our future, people often times will re-create the exact relationships that caused them pain.

The massage profession is no different except that there are more experiences in this type of work that create a transformation in the massage therapists as well as the clients lives. Massage therapists often are engaged in such life changing experiences with clients and their healing process that it allows the therapist to heal as well. But how does one fit that into a corporation and maintain your soul while working for someone else?

You keep your soul when you are able to create your 'Ideal Massage Therapy Job' - that is one that lights up your life rather than 'sucks' you dry. Knowing what you want and learning to ask for it is part of the process. If the employer can't give you what you want, you have to have the courage to keep looking or creating until you have your 'Ideal Massage Therapy Job'. While that isn't as easy as it sounds of course. It is a process. It is a matter of trying different things and seeing what works best for you. It is about not settling for less than you deserve. It is about respecting yourself enough to keep searching and creating.
