Massage Therapist

My name is Elizabeth I am currently a certified Massage Therapist but still need a license, Im very confused and only been out of school the last 10 months and I am seeking employment but have had no luck. I really need advice from people that know, or can help me.Thank you

Answer:

The key to getting a good job in this profession is to know what it is that you want in a job and go out and create it for yourself. Instead of just going to look for a job- look for an employer that you would love to work for. Would you go there yourself weekly or send your Mother there? Find a reputable business. Go in and get massage there yourself and don't tell them you are a massage therapist. Talk to the massage therapists, front desk people and anyone else that you can.

You probably also need a professional license before you get a job which means taking a test usually in whatever state you are in. Your school should have the details on that.

Your school should also have a job center or help for grads in getting jobs. You should also consider starting your own business because that is what most do in this business. You can start easily by just renting space from someone.

I also have a Massage Job Guide that might help you get focused on what you want.

Good luck
Julie
