Massage Job Resources

The best place to find massage job resources is from the massage school that you graduate from or have graduated from. Your massage school should be the number one resource providing you with help in your interview skills, resume writing skills and having a list of local job opportunities.

There are so many other massage job resources that it can be very overwhelming and you may not know where to begin.

Start with knowing what you want in a job so you don't go into your job search just taking the first job that comes along. Since most massage jobs are low paying starting at $15-$25 an hour you need to be a little discerning. The other problem in the massage job market is that many massage employers will take advantage of massage therapists because so many are just desperate for a job. Massage employers are a fairly new concept. For the most part most massage therapists have gone out and started their own business. With more massage franchises, spas and medical offices hiring massage therapists it is important that you know what you want before you start looking for a job. As you look for a job, your view of what you want will also become clearer as you see the many options available in the massage profession.

Start thinking about what you need to make an hour and a month to pay your bills, save for vacations, retirement and live a comfortable life. Will a job that starts at $15 an hour fulfill that? Knowing what you want and need will help you to make better decisions when looking for a job. You will know right away whether the job is in the running to meet your needs.

Some other things to consider are the hours, benefits, employee or sub-contractor status and what in general is expected of you.
