Massage Burnout

Massage Burnout is usually the cause of people not succeeding as a massage therapist and it is one of the things that need to be talked about more.

Burnout can be from many things like not having enough money to run your business, working too many hours and getting injured or sick and the stress from helping too much. So many massage therapists come to the profession wanting to help others but often end up helping too much at the cost of burnout.

Helping too much can come in many ways - seeing clients at a time that you had scheduled to have off, working long days without lunch or other breaks, not taking vacations, discounting or undercharging for your massage sessions and not getting massage yourself.

One of the keys to avoiding or dealing with burnout is setting boundaries around your work - the hours you work, the way you deal with clients and charging what you need to make to be successful are a few thing you can do.
