Marketing Massage Therapy Businesses
Marketing Massage Therapy Businesses is an ongoing process of finding new ways to attract your ideal massage client. There are basically two different views of marketing massage therapy: - Use traditional marketing methods such as creating sales brochures, advertising and basic 8 page websites where you go out looking for new massage clients
- or Creating a marketing plan to attract your "Ideal Massage Client" where clients come looking for you.
The focus of this website is the second way really - learning about what it is that you want in a client and creating a business that is filled with your "Ideal Massage Clients". Your Ideal Massage client can be a certain demographic (like male or female, within a certain neighborhood or whatever) but the common thread is that your Ideal Massage client values what you do. Your Unique Selling Proposition is what sets you apart from everyone else. You can do that by creating a specialty for yourself such as a method of massage or working with a specific population or you can be the catch all therapist working with clients of every kind. There are two ways to make money as a massage therapist - See as many clients as you can in one which usually requires that you charge less to make your service more appealing or charge more for your massage sessions and attract those who can pay you that much (working less and getting paid more). Since your physical body can only take so much and last so long, I recommend the latter. Marketing Massage is also the name of a really great book by Monica Roseberry who talks about what it really takes to market a massage business. She traveled the country interviewing massage therapist about what it was that made the difference in their success. Basically the result was that the most successful massage therapist had a high level of self confidence and self esteem. The believed in themselves and what they were doing enough to stay committed through the many challenges of marketing a massage business. There were some that spent a lot of money on expensive marketing and advertising only to find that it didn't work. It doesn't take a lot of money to market massage businesses. What it takes is a willingness to make mistakes and learn what it is that you want. When you can get clear about what you want and clear up the false (unconscious beliefs) that you have that are holding you back, you will find success in the massage profession. The best way I have found of marketing massage businesses is to create a website using Site Build it! - the service I use to create this website. I recommend them for many reasons. Not only do they do the work to get your site found, but they teach you how to be successful in business. By creating and constantly working on a website for your massage business, it keeps you focused on what it is that you want. Clients will soon be finding you and wanting only you as their therapist.
