What is different about Discoverypoint, and what outstanding features do we bring to the massage education field? Our name says a lot about us: A discoverypoint is neither the beginning nor the end, but a point of clarity along the way. It is a moment of ah-ha accompanied by a sense of joy and satisfaction that challenges us to move ahead. We are committed to helping you “discover your path, discover massage, and discover yourself.” Students at Discoverypoint School of Massage experience:
•Great location - Our Pike street address gives us an ideal location at the edge of downtown Seattle in the urban and eclectic Capitol Hill neighborhood. Here streets are dotted with public art, coffeehouses, restaurants, and boutiques, as well as a number of small performing arts theaters. This rich and diverse population coupled with its culture of openness and acceptance make Capitol Hill a lively and interesting setting.
•Easy access - The school has easy access via public transportation, cars alike. Our central location makes it pedestrian friendly, we have on-site parking available for those who need to drive, multiple bus routes pass right by our front door, and the new light rail station is being completed just blocks away.
•Small class size - Our class size creates a student to teacher ratio that allows instructors to give you personal attention and individualized learning support. Students have good supervision and receive lots of feedback in hands-on classes and student clinics.
•Seasoned Faculty - Our faculty includes an experienced learning strategist to help students of all learning styles achieve success. Combined, our instructors have over 65 years of teaching experience. These outstanding educators have written and contributed to multiple textbooks in the massage and sports medicine fields, and they are highly sought after speakers at state, regional and national professional and educational conferences.
•Comprehensive 840 hour program - In just 10 months you get all the sciences, hands-on techniques, personal and professional development, and business skills needed to prepare you for state licensure and to thrive in a career of helping people. To support your learning process, the course schedule focuses one subject per day.
•Independent school - Being independently owned allows greater flexibility in curriculum and course development. We are able to keep a “finger on the pulse” of state and regional policies as well as the national trends and changes in education and the profession.
