Chair Massage
Chair Massage also known as seated massage or corporate massage is just massage done while sitting. David Palmer is known as the father of chair massage in the US when he developed a special chair for doing seated massage. Chair massage is done with the person's fully clothed and it can be done in public places such as airports, convention centers and in offices. Many companies are hiring chair massage therapists to provide massage for their office workers to reduce stress in the workplace and increase morale among workers.
As a massage therapist you can also use chair massage to promote your table massage business by using a portable massage chair to give free or low cost massages at open houses or other special events. Chair massage is also great at benefits for charities and art auctions. When I first started doing massage in 1989, I interviewed with a company who was starting a chair massage business with the intent of going into offices and having the company pay for the massages. It didn't catch on that way back then and now only some employers will spring for paying for the massages for their employees. There is much more research that needs to be done on chair massage and reducing stress at the office to show employers the benefits of massage.
