Cancer Massage

Cancer massage or oncology massage is now becoming an important part of recovery or dealing with cancer. Massage is being done in cancer recovery wards and in hospices. When I first started doing massage in 1987 massage for cancer was totally contraindicated. Massage school taught that doing massage on people with cancer was strictly prohibited. That is the way it is with most contraindications of massage- just do enough research and you will often find that massage is indicated for many conditions.

Learning how to do cancer massage involves learning about the process of cancer and the courses of treatments available. The most prominent teachers of cancer massage are Tracy Walton a massage therapist and cancer researcher, Gayle MacDonald author of the book Medicine Hands and Cheryl Chapman.
