California massage licensing and certification update

California does not license Massage Therapists, but there is a not-for-profit organization, California Massage Therapy Council (www.camtc.org) that certifies individuals. Licensing for business is still up to cities, but cities are restricted in what they can require from a Certified Massage Therapist in order to practice. Certification is still voluntary.
