Bowen Therapy
Bowen therapy or Bowtech or Bowenwork is the creation of Tom
Bowen (1916-1982) of Australia. Tom Bowen was open with his work teaching taking many different people under his wing to learn how to replicate his work. There are many different branches of this work as a result of this. Each person had their own interpretation of his work and developed their own style from it. The work of Tom Bowen and it's history is very confusing and inaccurate with most of the followers having their own version of what is going on. Feel free to share your stories and information to clarify and support the work of Tom Bowen in the form below.
Bowen Therapy International is an independent entity, conceived from an integrated system developed by Milton J. Albrecht a follower of Tom Bowen. Bowtech is the creation of Oswald Rentsch and his wife Elaine in Perth Australia.
The basis of this therapy is a series of gentle, cross fiber movement to work with the connective tissue of the body. The client is fully clothed and lying on a massage table.
