Blue Ridge School of Massage and Yoga in Blacksburg, Virginia offers a comprehensive Medical Massage-based curriculum: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point and Myofascial Release, Shiatsu and Thai Yoga Massage as major bodywork modalities, with Reiki, Polarity, Reflexology and Pregnancy Massage in-depth introductions. Yoga and Chi Kung are integrated into classes to promote wellness and safe massage practice, focus, and kinesthetic body awareness. Students are well-grounded in Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Communication, Ethics, and Business Practices by their graduation.

Our classes are small by design, with class sizes ranging from 6-14 with an average size of 9. Instructors are able to give students ample individual attention for them to master the techniques and eventually develop their own capabilities.

Individual learning styles are supported through use of a variety of teaching aids, methods, and library resources. We employ methods of instruction that help visual (seeing), auditory (hearing), and kinesthetic (feeling or doing) learners.
