Having links that go to your website is one of the many parameters that Search engines use to rank and list your site. To get to the top of the search engines for your keyword which should be some form of 'massage, your city' - take a look at your competitors site. (Just do a search and see what site is at the top of the page.) Then take a closer look at the site doing a search for links to that site by using Yahoo! Site Explorer and typing in the domain name you are researching. It will tell you how many sites are linking to your site. That is how many links you will have to get to get a good chance at getting to the top of the search engine results page. One of the ways to get links to your site is to post on blogs and leave your link or post on forums and leave your link but also using article marketing which is writing a very short article and posting it on sites like this or in free article directories. My favorite directory is www.ezinearticles.com I have a bunch of articles there already but also could use a few hundred more. Top internet marketers have thousands of articles. There are also many other Free article directories. I have a list of them on my blog at www.thebodyworker.com The basic theory is to write a very short article about your massage business (or business you are promoting) and just touch on a few things to make people want to know more about you and click through the link. You can create a bio in most directories that will allow you to place a link or even a few. You have to read the directories directions for doing that and abide by their other restrictions. You write an article similar to the way you would create a page on your website using simple search engine optimization criteria. Use your keyword in the title of the article and use it a few times throughout the article. Some directories will limit how many times you can use it throughout the article. Write a few short paragraphs and that is it! You can also add a short article here in some of the sections I have on my site like the different types of massage or the success stories or any of the business and marketing sections.
