Age for massage thearpists

by Tesia
(missouri city, TX)

how old do you have to be to start training school in massage therapy? and how long will the training take before i can start looking for work in this field?

Answer: You only have to be 18 and a high school grad to get into massage school. Massage school usually takes about 6 months. For people right out of high school I recommend finding a 4 year school or at least a 2 year massage school program. It isn't a career really for people right out of high school. Most massage therapists start their own business so you need business and marketing skills and you also need to be mature enough to handle intense emotional issues with clients because massage can bring up past issues of abuse and trauma.
