After receiving my license

by Sandra Smith
(Spokane, WA )

Does the state of Washington require me to have insurance before starting my business?

Answer:
I am not sure but it is a good idea to have it before you start. There are many inexpensive ways to get it. Check with the WA State Board to find out if you need it for sure.

Insurance In Washington State
by: Lynn

Julie,
You say you are a practicing massage therapist in the state of Washington. So how can you not know whether or not insurance is required? It is your job to know. I am sure the state licensing board would be very interested to know that you don't have a clue.

Answer: Sorry I don't sit and read the laws everyday. It isn't my job - it is your job to know or contact the state board to find out. I have insurance so I don't really worry about it.
Thanks
Julie

Massage insurance
by: Mary Ellen Derwis-Balaz

Massage insurance is about doing business in a professional manner. It protects you and the general public and as a student shows your clients that you take yourself and your career choice very seriously. There are many inexpensive options. Check them out.
