Active Release Technique

Active Release Technique® or ART ® is a soft tissue management system developed by P. Michael Leahy. Dr. Leahy is a chiropractor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Every ART ® session is actually a combination of examination and treatment. The ART ® provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements.

The Active Release Techniques® are a series of classes divided up into various sections: Lower Extremity Courses, Upper Extremity Courses, Spine Courses, Nerve Entrapment Courses, Masters ART Courses , Biomechanics Certification and are offered through www.activerlease.com You can also find a provider of the Active Release Technique® on their website.
